Timber Talk
is a popular radio program that
informs, educates, and updates landowners, as well as the general public, about
forestry. Timber
Talk has intrigued listeners since its first airing in 1998 and has grown
to include four radio stations. It is the only forestry
related
media that reaches all sectors of the public. Timber
Talk's airing coverage includes 42
counties in Arkansas, 7 counties in Texas, 6 parishes in Louisiana, and 4
counties in Oklahoma. Timber Talk's popularity is in part due to Arkansas' role in the "Southern pine
belt" which provides 15% of the world's lumber and is
consequently the world's largest sustained supplier. Arkansas ranks 4th in
national timber production.
